New Vehicle Warranty

Sometimes referred to as a bumper-to-bumper warranty, this covers repairs to correct any new vehicle defect related to materials or workmanship. The manufacturer will repair or replace the defective part(s) using new or authorized remanufactured parts. Comparable coverage for a used vehicle is called exclusionary coverage because the components that are excluded from coverage are stated in the agreement.

Powertrain Warranty

This is coverage from the manufacturer that warrants the engine, transmission/transaxle, transfer case and vehicle drive system and internal lubricated parts against defects in materials or workmanship. This coverage is intended to cover the components that make the new vehicle go. Comparable coverage for a used vehicle is called stated component coverage as the items covered are stated in the agreement.
